You could forgive this stag for not wanting any part of this party - as a jackdaw landed on his shoulder for a quick word in its ear.
But far from shaking off the brazen bird, the deer seemed to actually enjoy the attention and appeared to be listening intently to what the jackdaw was saying to him.
Dean Mason, 46, snapped the extraordinary spectacle during a visit to Bushy Park in south-west London and couldn't believe his eyes as he watched on.
The keen photographer, from Bournemouth, Dorset, said the birds would often swoop down onto the deer and eat parasites from their fur.
He said: "I'd be following the stag around for a while and after setting himself down it wasn't long before one of the birds circling swooped down and landed on him.
"It looked like the jackdaw was telling him a joke or something as the deer seemed slightly bemused with a funny smirk across his face.
"When it had had enough, it shook its head and the bird flew away.
"It was an unusual sight to say the least and I was glad I was in the right place and the right time to capture it."
