Meet the real beach babes: the herd of pigs that live the life of luxury - on a Hawaii beach. The lucky swines live on the white sands of the islands - and love nothing better than taking a dip in the crystal clear waters to cool off. And they are only interrupted by locals - who love to bring them titbits to eat. The pampered porcines were captured on camera by underwater photographer Julie Edwards, 41, from Amsterdam, Netherlands, who spent a whole day hanging out with the herd. Julie said: "When I heard about the pigs that live on the beach, I knew I had to go and photograph them. "I spent the whole day on the shore, even missing lunch and dinner breaks, because I couldn't tear myself away from them. "I photograph a lot of animals, but they are the most fun species I've ever captured on camera. "They were so friendly and very affectionate towards humans. "They weren't bothered by me being there or taking their pictures at all. "The moment we set foot on shore three large sows ran across the beach with their piglets to see what we had for them to eat - which sadly was nothing. "Clearly, they are well fed by the local boatmen, and assumed we were there to serve them. "But they hung around us all day long, never running or even turning away from the cameras like you might expect an animal to. "Some of the younger pigs snuffled around in the sand, almost as if they were children making a sandcastle. "And every time a boat came to shore, the little piglets would swim frantically towards it - obviously recognising it as a source of food. "They obviously have a very happy life out on the beach. It was a privilege to be able to photograph them."
