These are the amazing pictures of those blink-and-you've-missed it moments happening all the time nature caught by photographer Kim Taylor. Watching beetles wings beating, cats leaping and even a mighty horse galloping Kim catches it all through a lens. Despite his amazing images and dedication to his subjects, Kim admits he has never even been trained in photography. Using a homemade camera set to take pictures in incredible 50 millisecond intervals Kim creates a unique insight into the world moving around us. In fact Kim went so far to get the perfect shot he even used dangerously high levels of electricity to reach his goal. Kim, 78, from Surrey, said: "This technique required generating dangerously high voltage (3500V) and storing the energy in a bank of special - and very heavy -  capacitors. "The resulting equipment has three flash heads (that flash simultaneously) and will produce nine flashes at rates varying from 2 per second to 500 per second. "Before turning to photography, I worked as a biologist with the Ministry of Overseas Development and later with the Ministry of Agriculture. "I have no training in photography or electronics but was able to learn most of what I needed by trial and error, but you can't afford too many errors when dealing with lethally high voltage, however, I am still here. "The strobe unit was built while I was in my sixties - I am now 78 and it is still going. "Because of its weight, the unit does not often get taken on location, so most of the shots have been done in an indoor studio or in my Surrey garden. "Some of my early shots were of garden birds taking off.  Precise timing of 25 to 35 milliseconds between flashes was necessary to ensure that the images were sufficiently separated. Despite the high-tech feel of the pictures Edweard Muybridge actually used a similar system of strobe photography to show the action of a galloping horse as long ago as the 1870s.
