PIC FROM CATERS NEWS - "MONKEY TONK WOMAN" Resembling "rubber-lipped" Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger, a group of black snub-nosed monkeys enjoy a break in the sun at the Baima Snow Mountain State Nature Reserve in Weixi, southwest China.
The bizarre looking monkey which bears an uncanny resemblance to Mick Jagger, is relatively unknown outside of China due to it's semi-nomadic lifestyle, elusive nature and inhospitable habitat with extremely steep hillsides, impenetrable bamboo thickets, freezing winter climate with snow as well as damp and foggy summers with minimum visibility
The Black Snub-nosed Monkey was almost completely unknown until the 1990s. The fact that no single zoo outside China has ever kept the Black Snub-nosed Monkey in captivity has contributed to the enigmatic status of this species. Despite being an endangered species, the cute primate is seeing a healthy 50% increase in its numbers since the year 2000. Nearly 70% of the world's total are living at the nature reserve which they put down to its perfect, remote environment.
