This is the hilarious moment a dopey lion escapes by a whisker after almost getting almost trampled on by a giant elephant. The thirsty lion was busy drinking from a watering hole when he failed to hear the giant footsteps of an elephant approaching fast behind him. With one hoof raised just inches from the lions head, the elephant appeared to be just seconds away from trampling on the big cat. But luckily for the lion it looked up just in time and managed to escape by a whisker as it quickly moved out of the elephants way. Having spent some time observing the waterhole, Johan Bernard, 49, was lucky enough to capture this moment in Nxai Pans in Botswana, on camera.
