These seals certainly steal the limelight as they swoop and dive in fierce poses for the camera. One of them is a little more camera shy, however, hiding amongst the seaweed in shallow waters. Swimming near the Farne Islands in North East England, the seals popped up to investigate photographer Mike Clark and his dive boat. While pausing to check him and his equipment out, he was able to get some amazing close-ups of the inquisitive creatures. Mike, a 48-year-old civil servant with over three decades of photography experience, said: Its a fantastic experience to get close to one of the UKs largest carnivores. They are very playful underwater.
