(PICTURED: A three week old rhino struggles in a body of water as rescuers come to his aid.) - This is the moment a group of animal activists rescued a white baby rhino from drowning after it slipped into a cement dam. During their afternoon patrol at Balule Nature Reserve, The Protrack anti-poaching unit heard water splashing and went to investigate. They were shocked to discover a 3-week-old little white rhino stuck in a cement dam while his mother stood nearby helplessly. The team were quick to start their rescue attempt but faced some difficulty as the panicked mother charged at them repeatedly every time they got close to the rhino. After about 15 minutes, the team managed to hoist the rhino by pulling it up and the gleeful little fella quickly joined his mother before trotting off into the sunset together. The Protrack anti-poaching unit was established in 1992 and was the first private anti-poaching unit in South Africa.
