This is the JAWS-DROPPING moment an unsuspecting snorkeler looked set to be snapped up by a gigantic whale shark. But luckily for this daring diver, these mammoth creatures are the docile gentle giants of the sea and are harmless to humans - instead preferring to dine on fish. The 27ft whale shark was spotted creeping up on swimmers by photographer, Markus Roth, from Pulheim in Germany. He captured the remarkable images while swimming with his friend, Maik Solf, in Cenderawasih Bay in West Papua. The 36-year-old admitted he was very cautious of the gigantic creatures when first entering the water.
