By Dale Maycock This is the a-CLAW-able moment a little brown bear was spotted playing in the snow. As mum went off to fish for the family, the cute cub decided to kill some time by grappling and gnawing a nearby ice block. But despite being left on its own for a while, the youngster looked extremely CHILLED OUT as he waited for mum to return in Kronotsy Reserve, Far East Russia. Spotted by photographer Sergey Ivanov, 52, the loveable brown bear is seen sitting comfortably in the snow as it tries to balance the block on it's paw. Sergey said: "The bears near this lake hibernate very late as there are still salmon swimming in the river on their way to spawn. "The mother of this bear went fishing and left the cub all alone at the bank of the Kuril lake. "It looked a little lost at first but it soon entertained itself by chewing on a piece of ice it found near the water. "I managed to get the pictures by hiding on the other side of the bank, I had been there a couple of hours at this point watching and 'shooting' the bears but I'm sure it didn't notice me. "As it is the first winter outside of its den, the young bear is very easily entertained and extremely interested in it's surroundings. "Everything around him is new and exciting, even though he was playing with a simple piece of ice, it was wonderful to watch him having fun. "The snow and ice is still very amusing to the young cub and he was very funny to watch, especially when the ice block broke on his foot" ENDS
