By Dale Maycock This is the hilarious moment a monkey was captured recording with a video camera. The mischievous macaque was definitely up to MONKEY BUSINESS after it leaped out of a tree and headed straight towards the mounted GoPro camera on Ao Nang beach in Thailand. However, little did the tampering tree-dweller know that whilst it was busy playing with the device, Canadian Frédéric Blais-Bélanger, 26, had in fact left the camera running. Amazingly, the inquisitive mammal can be seen peering directly into the video camera and even licks the lens in its quest to figure out what the alien object is. And while the cheeky monkey was distracted by its new discovery, Frédéric even managed to photograph the long tailed Macaque looking particularly puzzled. Frédéric said "The monkey was very curious about me and my cameras it was certainly trying to understand what the object was. "These monkeys are great to work with as they aren't scared of people, the young ones are particularly curious. "As soon as I started photographing them, they became even more curious and one monkey in particular came very close to me and made a dash toward my little video camera." "The monkey seemed fascinated with it and played with it for a few minutes, it really looks like a videographer in some of the pictures. "I managed to take some photographs while it was distracted, and got some great pictures where the monkey looks as if it is shooting the camera and another of it scratching its head looking really confused. "I left the camera running the whole time, so without knowing it, the monkey was really filming! "To be able to get as close as I did was incredible, although I was very nervous at first, the monkey wasn't scared of me at all. "It would often turn around to see what I was doing but would then go back to its 'new toy', I felt like I had a real connection with the animal." ENDS
